The Soho takes its name from the central London quarter whose restaurants, bars, theatres and late-night interiors have long been shaped by pools of low amber light. This set of six decorative G95 globe bulbs pairs the nostalgic appearance of exposed filament lighting with the efficiency, longevity and controlled warmth of modern LED technology.

Each bulb is formed from amber-tinted glass around a visible LED filament arrangement, producing the familiar glow of an early electric lamp without the high energy consumption associated with traditional incandescent bulbs. The generous 95 mm globe silhouette gives the Soho a strong decorative presence, allowing it to function as part of the fitting rather than disappearing beneath a shade.

At 2700 K, the light is distinctly warm without becoming overly orange. Each 4 W bulb produces approximately 450 lumens and is compatible with suitable LED dimmers, making the set equally useful for ambient evening lighting and brighter functional illumination when required.

Where it works best

The Soho is intended for fittings in which the bulb remains visible. It works particularly well in open pendants above kitchen islands and dining tables, multi-arm chandeliers, wall lights with clear glass shades, bedside pendants and decorative ceiling fittings where the rounded globe shape can be appreciated from several angles.

Used as a set, the six matching bulbs create consistency across a larger chandelier or a group of pendant lights. The amber glass complements brushed brass, bronze, blackened steel, dark timber, smoked glass and softly plastered walls, while the warm colour temperature helps bedrooms, dining rooms and sitting rooms feel settled in the evening.

Light quality & dimming

The amber glass softens the visible filament and gives the illuminated bulb a mellow golden appearance. At full brightness, the 450-lumen output provides useful ambient light; when dimmed, it creates the lower, more intimate register associated with traditional filament lamps.

For reliable dimming performance, pair the bulbs with an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer and ensure the total electrical load falls within the dimmer manufacturer's stated range. Performance may vary when used with older dimmer systems designed exclusively for incandescent bulbs.

Styling & pairings

Suspended in a row above a timber dining table, the globe form gives each pendant visual weight while the amber glass keeps the overall effect warm and restrained. In a brass chandelier, the bulbs reinforce the depth of the metal finish; in a blackened-steel fitting, they introduce a softer counterpoint to the darker frame.

The Soho is particularly effective in clear or open fittings where an ordinary white LED bulb would appear overly technical. Installation guidance
