Kura is a study in restraint. Two crescent-shaped outer shades of finely woven black string are wrapped around a slender black frame, curving past one another to form an elegant overlapping silhouette — an architectural shape that reads almost like brushwork against the ceiling. Inside, two frosted-glass cylinder shades sit hidden among the strings, glowing warmly when lit and casting a soft, diffused light through the woven outer screen.

It is unmistakably modern: the kind of fixture you would find in a Tokyo apartment, a Copenhagen guest house, or a thoughtfully renovated flat. The name Kura is drawn from the Japanese word for a traditional storehouse — a small architectural form prized for its simplicity, its restraint, and its quiet sense of considered beauty. Kura is purpose-built for rooms where a chandelier would feel excessive: contemporary bedrooms, hallways, dressing rooms, dining nooks, home offices, and the soft-lit corridors of new-build apartments.
